Everyone loves a good vacation. It’s both an excuse to escape the mundane day-to-day and to break out your most adorable and least used accessory, your suitcase! Pre-vacay, luggage is a wildly exciting prospect. This is my treasure trove of vacation clothes — FOR MY VACATION. Ugh, why can’t spring break last forever?
Sadly, all good things must come to an end. Most vacations conclude back at home, suitcase parked at the door of your too-tiny apartment, no room service in sight :( Bye-bye fancy dinners and inner peace, hello LIFE.
Suffice to say, returning home from an amazing vacation can be tough. The worst part though (for me, at least) is the suitcase conundrum. It just doesn’t fit into your authentic and vacation-devoid life! Unless you want to devote all of your closet space to the sucker, there’s basically no convenient place to store it (or so we thought…) Nope, open corner of the living room is not an option.
The best and most efficient method is to take advantage of the space beneath your bed. No space beneath your bed? Grab a bed frame or invest in risers to increase your storage space. Spring for a bed skirt and no one will ever even know of the cruel vacay-reminder that lies beneath.
And here’s a brilliant thought: pack the suitcase! There’s no use in having an empty suitcase take up a ton of prime storage property. Double your real estate by throwing any closet-bound items into your suitcase. Uhh, why didn’t we think of this before?!
