Hey Mario--Walk Around Shirtless If You Want, But Not Your Baby Girl, Dude
August 2, 2011
Right after his role as AC Slater on Saved by the Bell, Mario Lopez is probably most well-known for one other thing: his abs. So if he wants to walk around shirtless to put those bad boys on full display, I don’t really care. But seriously, why didn’t he put a shirt or dress on his daughter Gia Lopez for the pic above?
Call me uptight, but shirts are one of those things I just don’t think are optional. Even at the beach or on a hot summer day, I think babies should be covered up. Sun exposure aside, kids should wear shirts. Adults wear them–kids should, too. It’s really that simple.
I was at the playground yesterday and there was a little girl–probably around 8-years-old–running through the sprinklers in just her bikini bottom. And a friend recently told me she saw a mom giving her naked child a piggy back ride while walking her dog. What gives? When did clothing become optional for little kids?
The really bizarre thing about the pic above? Mario thought enough to put gold shoes on Gia’s feet and a bow in her hair, but no shirt? I just don’t get it.
What about you? Do you take your baby or toddler out without clothes on? Do you let your little one go shirtless in public? Weigh in in the comments.
