Our heroes over at Racked just discovered, through sleuth reporting, that H&M will be launching e-commerce to coincide with the launch of NBC’s new series Fashion Star (which debuts tonight, meet the contestants now). Racked interviewed the creator of the series, E.J. Johnston, and found this little nugget of information we’ve been waiting for: H&M will “offer online shopping specifically for the items they’ve produced from the show.” You see, buyers from Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy’s and H&M actually bid on designs from the show, and the winning looks will be available the next day — in stores and online. So as early as tomorrow, you could be shopping on the very first H&M U.S. site.
Ok, it’s not a full-blown site launch, but it’s progress, people!
