Hmm, Maternity Belly Button Rings for Expectant Moms... What Do You Think?

Once upon a time, I was wild child. I got multiple tattoos and piercings within the span of a few years and yes, one of those was a belly button ring. In retrospect, it was a completely ridiculous way to spend my time and money, but I do remember having fun with my girlfriends at the time. The point is, when I found out I was pregnant I quickly got rid of that navel ring. “You can’t wear a belly button ring with a huge baby bump,” I thought.

Apparently, I was wrong. Yes, they make maternity belly button rings. I’ve been looking at that pic for few hours now, but it’s still making me cringe. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me, but there’s something that makes me queasy about seeing a piercing on a pregnant belly.

Wondering what makes a maternity belly button ring different? The little bar between the balls is longer and more flexible to accommodate a growing belly. Fascinating, right?

Okay, now let’s be serious: how many of you expectant moms are still sporting your belly button rings? Would you wear a maternity belly button ring? I want full disclosure in the comments because I’m intrigued.
