Welcome to the future, ladies. When designers like Burberry, Jonathan Saunders and Blumarine told us last fall that looking like Zenon in hologram wear was the the cool new thing for spring, we were a little hesitant. Halloween costume? Absolutely. Day-to-day wardrobe? Not so sure.

But then, just a few weeks back, Milly went and made converts out of all of us with their shimmery, hologram-heavy fall 2013 show. The designer took the reflective look and showed us all how it’s done: by pairing the sparkly pieces with more muted items to balance it out. Ta-da! The trend is now totally wearable. For instance, if you’re rocking a pair of hologram skinny jeans, just top with a chunky knit or a white tee. And even though Milly’s designs were for next fall, there are already plenty of pieces out there to help you get that futuristic touch. Click through the slideshow to start shopping this fall trend early.
