It’s summer, which means we all want that smokin’ beach bod. But, it’s summer, which means we also want to have all of the yummy desserts that come with this season of fun. Think: s’mores, ice cream, pies, tarts, fro-yo… yum. So, how can we have our cake and eat it, too (literally)? We found some easy at-home recipes for amazing desserts, that are all under 100 calories! One personal favorite is how to make a s’more – check it out:
Graham Cracker. Okay, so you just can’t cheat out of using a graham cracker to make a s’more. One graham cracker – aka the one large rectangle that breaks into two pieces – is 59 calories. So just take that for what it is – and enjoy it.
Marshmallow. Again, you just can’t skip the marshmallow. It’s honestly the key ingredient of a s’more. One “large” marshmallow is 23 calories. Roast it, microwave it, put it raw – doesn’t matter. Add the 23 to our starting 59, and now we’re at 82 calories… just keeping count.
Chocolate. Chocolate is KEY in a s’more. But instead of throwing in your 3 pieces chocolate, or globbing on Nutella, just use one square of Hershey’s milk chocolate – it’s only 17 calories! Pro tip: melt it a little to get the chocolate to spread. Or leave it as is – regardless, you’ve saved a lot of calories.
So, added up, you just made yourself a 99 calorie s’more – and you didn’t really do anything different, right?! Look at that… you have one calorie to spare ;)
