How You Should Style Those Black Jeans Right Now

There’s no doubt that black jeans are a wardrobe must-have for any point of the year—especially fall. You can easily transition your brightly colored summer tops and strappy heels with darker jeans, or go for a monochromatic outfit. I mean, you can’t go wrong with an all-black look, right? What we’re not so sure about is if absolutely everything goes with your fave pair of pants. There are a few simple tips and tricks to help you figure out what to wear with black jeans.

Black jeans can help you create slimming, and slightly edgier, looks modeled after some of your favorite celebs who have a killer eye for fashion. You can turn to and gain major styling inspiration from celebs like Gigi Hadid and Selena Gomez. These fashion icons seem to know just what to wear, and how to do so in an effortless way. The best part about recreating these looks is that you can really keep it simple with a few basics, and then spruce them up with a bold shoe and statement jewelry.

Think of all the easy ways you can even incorporate dark skinnies with some of next season’s top trends. For starters, let’s take a look at the 2017 fall trends that are dominating everywhere from catwalks to street style. One eye-turning trend is bell sleeved tops. Forget spaghetti straps and short sleeves—bold sleeves have been all the rage starting with this summer’s cold shoulder tops. You can keep everyone’s focus on your statement sleeves by keeping the lower half of your outfits simple—which is where black jeans come in. Style a bright blue bell sleeved top with dark skinnies and a pair of  booties. The contrast between a bright top and black jeans will make you look effortlessly put together and so chic.

You can also switch up your plain jeans by finding ones that are distressed, embellished, or even embroidered. If you choose to go for a more elaborate pair of black skinnies, then make sure to keep your top half more simple. Copy Kim Kardashian’s street style with dark ripped pants and a basic white tee. You can always add a cool leather jacket or camo coat for chillier days and nights.

Bella Hadid also certainly knows how to rock unique styles of jeans, much like Kim K. The model wore blue denim embroidered jeans, which are sure to be a trend that’s carried into the fall. You can create the same look by finding a black pair of stitched skinnies and keeping Bella’s styling tips in mind. Bella kept the bold look low-key by choosing a white off-the-shoulder top and a pair of athletic slides.

A rule of thumb to always remember is to enhance your upper half with a statement sleeve shirt or bright top when you’re wearing basic black jeans. But if you’re wearing a distressed or embroidered denim pair of jeans on your lower half, opt for something along the lines of a plain white tee.
