How To Style Colored Tights
September 11, 2012
If you’ve ever admired colored tights on your favorite style blogger but were unsure of how to pull them off, we’re here to help. A cute pair of colored tights have the power to pull an outfit together, make old clothes look new again, and keep your legs warm in cold weather. Our favorite colored tights are by HUE — they’re stretchy and comfortable, ultra opaque (meaning you won’t see any skin through them), and have a slimming control top. Here are three tips for confidently rocking a pair of colored tights.
1. Start Slow
If you’ve never worn colored tights before and aren’t quite ready to try a bright pair in royal blue or fuchsia it’s okay to start slow. Start with darker shades closets to classic black like charcoal and work your way up to slightly brighter shades like hunter green and maroon.
2. Pop of Color
The easiest, most foolproof way to rock colored tights is to keep the rest of your outfit neutral and let your tights be your statement piece. Neutral means that you can pick any colored tights you’d like without worrying about their matching the rest of your outfit… the possibilities are endless!
3. Match It Up (or Don’t!)
Wear the same shade as your skirt for a cute monochromatic look, or visually lengthen your legs by wearing the same shade as your shoes. Wearing tights in a complementary shade to your outfit works too.
