How To Wear Neon Makeup To Work (Yes, It's Possible)

Neon makeup is, ironically, the black sheep of the beauty family. It’s just as wonderful as all other beauty products, but no one understands it because it’s just a little too different. Take, for example, the beauty at Jeremy Scott‘s NYFW show. It was bright, bold and amazing to look at, but just because Gigi Hadid wore it on the runway doesn’t mean you can take that exact look to the streets, let alone the office.

That said, even though neon makeup is unconventional, it doesn’t mean you can’t wear it in the real world. I’m not saying you should go full rave clown–obviously you need to maintain some level of professionalism in a work environment, and the degree to which you can experiment with your makeup may depend on your respective office dress code. But a thin swipe of bright eyeliner or a pop of color on the lips never hurt anybody. Wearing one color at a time (on one spot on your face at a time–that’s the key) is the perfect way to bring a little brightness to your daily look. Click through our slideshow to see some of the best neon options.
