How to Stay Blister-Free

Spring is a treacherous season. New shoes + heat + lots of walking in the spring air = blisters. Just the other evening I donned my adorable new platform pumps. An hour into my evening I was silently cringing in agony with every step. Take my advice:

* Invest in quality foot protection. Airplus Ball-of-Foot Cushions add bounce to your step and keep the balls of the feet from blistering. Kiwi Smiling Feet Heel Cushions ward off nasty heel blisters and Kiwi’s fabulous Mini Cushions pad targeted spots like sensitive pinky toes. For skinny straps that dig into tender skin, consider Airplus for Her’s invisible gel Love My Straps strips. And for blisters everywhere, try Foot Petals Stiletto Survival Pack that contains all the essentials, including cushions, strips, insoles and padding, so you can wear any pair of killer heels without killing your feet.

* Keep feet dry. Wear socks made of wicking material, like those by SmartWool and if needed, dust your soles with baby powder to keep them from sweating.

* Reduce friction. A little bit of lubrication from this Band-Aid Active Flex Blister Block Stick keeps uncomfortable rubbing from creating more blisters.
