article about the “Man-gagement trend” where grooms receive a band or other piece of jewelry to mark their engagement. The trend, which grew out of guys being jealous of their fiance’s bling, is kind of like a promise ring, but without that pesky abstinence thing. Even celebrities are on the trend…
Jennifer Hudson gave her boyfriend David Otunga a $15,000 Neil Lane ring. We’re not sure how we feel about the trend — on one hand, any guy who WANTS to let the world know he’s “taken” should be allowed to, but on the other, its kind of ridiculous. Let us know what you think.
