If Zac Posen For David's Bridal Doesn't Make You Want To Get Married, What Will?
June 14, 2013
David’ Bridal keeps the designer collaborations coming. The accessibly-priced retailer just tapped Zac Posen to create a bridal gown and social occasion collection. Even though this is technically his bridal debut, Posen has designed wedding gowns for a select few friends, including Coco Rocha. So what can we expect from Posen’s collection? Well, the designer is definitely a red carpet favorite for his delicate and feminine aesthetic. He’s also known for sweetheart necklines with a bustier fit and mermaid silhouettes. It’s hard to believe that he wasn’t designing bridal gowns already!
Now that we know Zac Posen designing wedding dresses is a no-brainer; the bigger question is how will it stand up against the hugely successful Vera Wang collection for David’s Bridal? Is Posen too obscure of a designer? Vera Wang is the first name that comes to mind when you think about weddings, but while Posen himself might not be a household name, his work speaks for itself. Everything about his designs are elegant and he definitely knows how to dress a women. What more could a bride want for the dress she’s been waiting to wear her whole life?
The Truly Zac Posen collection will be available in select David’s Bridal stores and online in February. It includes six ivory wedding gowns and five limited edition social occasion dresses in neutral and seasonal colors. Prices range from $850-$1,350 for bridal and $195-$225 for social occasion dresses. Additional styles are expected for later in 2014.
