Enrich Your Child's Palate With This Culinary Herb Garden Kit

My son came from from school last week with a pea plant in a Dixie cup.  We’re supposed to water it, give in plenty of sun, and watch it thrive.  As lovely as that sounds, I don’t expect to be eating home-grown peas anytime soon.  That’s not to say that we cannot grow our own food at home though.  With this Indoor Culinary Herb Garden Kit, we can have a patch of green right in our very own kitchen.  Since we live in an apartment, the 12x12x5 kit is a perfect size for our home.  However, it will work anywhere and it’s a great way to show kids you can grow great flavors from the ground up.

I love that the kit includes cooking favorites like oregano and parsley, but it also introduces yummy unusual flavors like lemon basil and garlic chives.  Now that summer is just about here and fresh foods are in abundance, why not add your own home-grown herbs to salads, entrees, and even desserts!
