By now, we all know that the whole “no white after Labor Day” taboo is a myth. But as we enter these short days of winter, we tend to instinctively throw on our darkest duds to match our darker moods (womp, womp). The main mistake winter-white-avoiders make is to assume that you are supposed to wear all the same hues of white-on-white like you’re attending Diddy’s White Party.

In reality, winter white outfits are just an excuse to layer on some of the more gorgeous muted lighter tones. You can mix and match shades like cream, ivory and blush – which look amazing together. Be sure to try pairing your ensemble with some rose gold jewelry for added effect. Not convinced of this (maybe not the most practical but totally cozy) look? Click through the slideshow for winter-appropriate pieces in the many shades of winter white. You’ll be a convert in no time.
