Jean Paul Gaultier tries his hand at a Target collaboration, online March 7th, and it seems like he couldn’t make up his mind what kind of girl the line was targeting (no pun intended). The collection has five major muses–’90s punk rocker, a frilly halter dress a la Marilyn Monroe, a schoolgirl look that reminds us of Britney Spears in “Hit Me Baby, One More Time,” plus a hip hop street style like something Naomi Campbell would have donned during her heyday–and to top it off, ’80s Madonna. What do you think of the Jean Paul Gaultier for Target looks?
Now we’ll show you some pieces that are similar–but you won’t have to wait for the release–they’re all available now, and can be mixed and matched, or worn alone.
New York and Company faux leather jacket ($89.95) channels the look of the punk rocker, but looks contemporary paired with something delicate to mix things up.
These cute and classic Converse shoes ($44) go with virtually everything–the baby blue stripe adds a feminine touch.
Victoria’s Secret takes the classic trench coat ($89, down from $108) to the next level, adding a zipper instead of cumbersome buttons and a streamlined fit instead of bulky layers.
This lace headband ($28) channels Madonna in all the best ways–it can be transformed to several different looks–prim with a black dress and cheeky with a t-shirt.
