Yeah, we know Karl Lagerfeld is doing a collection of jelly sandals with Melissa, but it only took a quick office poll here to deduce that jellies are not cute. Not a single woman in our office conceded that she might wear a pair, so we’re going to go ahead and kill all hope that jellies are a viable shoe option for any female over the age of 13.

PVC flats, on the other hand, are totally workable. You already know PVC heels are all the rage, so it only makes sense that designers like Christian Louboutin and Manolo Blahnik offer some more comfortable options. And unlike jellies which are typically all rubbery plastic, this season’s PVC flats are done in mixed media so the leather accents make them much more acceptable for grown women.

Still not convinced? Click through the slideshow to check out some surprisingly cute PVC flats.
