Don’t miss out on other indie label t-shirt designers, check out our Tee Guide.

Tee Week Feature Find: butter nyc expands its ultra-comfy “tattoo” tee line and adds flirty skirts.

Why: butter nyc’s tees are aptly named, so soft are these fitted t-shirts that you’ll find an excuse to wear them frequently. They recently added to their neutral color palette; grass, lemon, and lavendar have joined your basic black, navy, white, chocolate, and army green. (68.00) But there’s more to butter tees than than the buttery (sweatshop-free) fabric. The gimmick is the tattoo, a tiny embroidered personal statement added to the shirt to break it away from the rest of basic layering pieces out there.

Enough about the tees. You know how those lower back, just above the booty crack tattoos are so popular? Well, now you can wear the same effect without the permanence or pain. butter nyc’s NEW skirts are as good as the t-shirts. Made from high-quality cotton, these tiered skirts are easy to wear, and casual cute. The signature “tattoo” is an applique on the lower back of the skirt’s waistband. (84.00)
