It’s been confirmed that at least 89 people were killed inside the Bataclan. With a total of at least 129 people killed and 352 injured, the Bataclan was hit the hardest in the wave of the attacks. Out of the 89 people who were taken by the attacks, the 89 people included Justin Bieber’s friend and Universal Music Group executive, Thomas Ayad.

Lucian Grainge confirmed the loss of UMG’s executive in a letter to staffers, “We have confirmed that Thomas Ayad, an international product manager for Mercury Records lost his life in the attack on the theater. This is an unspeakably appalling tragedy.”

Bieber responded to the loss with a heartfelt and touching tribute he shared on his Twitter in honor of Ayad.

The tweet reads, “Still thinking about Paris and my friend Thomas that we lost in the tragedy. He was a part of the team for years and I wish I would’ve had more time to thank him,” he wrote adding, “Make sure to appreciate people while you have them. Thanks Thomas for everything you did for me. You are appreciated and missed. Thoughts and prayers are with your family & friends #PrayForParis.”
