Jelly shoes aren’t usually the first thing that comes to mind when you think of high-fashion. Melissa, the Brazilian maker of colorful jelly shoes, is trying to change that. First, they collaborated with Jason Wu to create these adorable jelly flats. Now Melissa has teamed up with Chanel creative director, Karl Lagerfeld, to create jelly shoes. These shoes are far from the tacky plastic sandals we used to wear to the beach in the 90s. Lagerfeld just unveiled his first design sketch for the footwear brand: a curvy Mary Jane heel that features that colors of the Brazilian national flag. And this is the first of many designs to come: he has signed on to create 4 collections for the eco-friendly footwear company. We can’t wait to see more!
The collection’s official launch is March 26, and we will keep you posted as more info is released. In the meantime, tell us: What do you think of Karl’s version of jelly heels? Would you wear them?
