Kate Middleton just started to fill out her maternity clothes like, last week, which is nearly impossible to believe since the Duchess is due around the same time as Kim Kardashian. We’ll save the Kim K fat jokes for another time, because it’s not fair to compare these two, but here’s one thing they do have in common: neither has succumbed to traditional “maternity wear” yet. Midds was just photographed visiting a Manchester school for St. George’s Day (some British thing?) in a silk crepe dress from Canadian/British designer Erdem, a designer she wore faithfully before getting knocked up.
Her Erdem Sophia floral-print silk-crepe dress ($1880) is a little pricey, but still in stock if you’re on Team Kate and want one. But we can’t help but wonder, has Kate lost her selling power? Once upon a time, anything she wore–no matter how expensive–sold out almost immediately and yet this pretty floral dress is still available in all but 2 sizes. Do you think it’s because this dress is too expensive or because Kate is always in the news and she’s just lost her ability to sell out shoes and clothing? Weigh in in the comments.
