Although I’m not a Grey’s Anatomy fan, I’ve got to say of all the beauties on the Emmys and after-party red carpets, this long sleeve, cinched dress on Kate Walsh was one of my top 3 favorites (Lea Michelle in Oscar de la Renta is up there too). Maybe I love it so much because it’s totally wearable in real life (think black pumps and hoop earrings for a chic nighttime look this fall). Maybe because it somehow nailed “modest” and “sexy” in one (long sleeve knit dresses are huge this fall).

Oh well, enough with why we love it – let’s get to how to wear it:

Nail Kate’s sexy look with this Alice + Olivia Gretta Long Sleeve dress ($242). The front ruching is forgiving, and the contrast between the long sleeves and the short mini will drive men wild.

A perfect for fall version is this Autumn Cashmere mochachino cashmere twisted knot dress ($195, down from $325). You will want to live in this super-soft cashmere sweater dress; pair it with textured gray tights and clogs for an on-trend fall look.

If you prefer black over brown, go for this super-sexy Riller & Fount Tropic Long Sleeve Mini dress ($165). The knot detail is flattering for all bust lines, and the plunge neckline makes this dress a fall party show-stopper.

You can never go wrong with a neutral pair of pumps like Kate did. They work for the office, parties, happy hour, red carpets and beyond. Hence why this Jimmy Choo ‘Lockett’ Pumps ($495) is worth every penny.

A cream leather clutch is a staple every gal needs in her arsenal; this Lauren Merkin Caroline Glitter Python-Embossed clutch ($250) also has an amazing python embossed detail.

Ace the celebrity-approved styles like clogs and jeggings and then head over to our guides for the best summer dresses, flat black boots and little black dresses.
