Kelly's New Jewelry: What Ex-Partner Did She Scam This Time?
August 6, 2009
Kelly Bensimon has quite the eclectic resume: she was formerly the Elle Accessories Editor-In-Chief, thousands of viewers watched her as alleged abusive girlfriend on The Real Housewives of New York City, and now she is set to launch a new jewelry line, Kelly, soon to be available at Intermix stores and on intermixonline.com. The highlight of Bensimon’s reasonably priced (we know what you’re thinking, yeah right, at Intermix?) collection is said to be her distinctive Navaho & Snake inspired jewelry.
Sounds good, but if you’ve learned anything from tuning in to the shameless Housewives series, it’s that these ladies don’t go anywhere that drama doesn’t follow. Bensimon is currently being sued by an ex-Elle colleague for purportedly using their mutual idea for an Owl pin in her line dishonestly. Supposedly, the two women hatched a plan to mass manufacture replicas of a vintage pin and sell it for $325. Now, Bensimon’s former partner is claiming that she was cut out of the deal and that the Housewife is passing the idea off as her own. Whether or not there’s validity to any of this remains to be seen, but one thing’s for sure – we can’t wait to check out the brooch that’s stirring up so much controversy.
