Kesha is finally speaking out in the midst of her legal battle with Dr. Luke.
On Tuesday, the singer took to Instagram to thank her fans for their support, sharing, “I am beyond words in gratitude. thank you is not enough but it is all I have. a million times over and forever thank you. the support I have received has left my face swollen from tears. I love you all so much. ❤️ a statement too large for this format is coming….”
Last Friday, Kesha’s request for an injunction, which would allow her to record and release music without producer Dr. Luke, was denied. Since then, many celebrities, including major female pop stars like Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Demi Lovato, have sent messages of support via social media. Taylor Swift even donated $250,000 to help cover any legal fees, while Lena Dunham wrote a powerful essay in defense of Kesha for her subscription email newsletter, Lenny Letter. Also, Zedd and Jack Antanoff (he produced 1989) offered to create music for the singer.
UPDATE: Kesha posted a longer message to Facebook on Wednesday, February 24th. Read it below:
