As if we needed another reason to look forward to New York Fashion Week next month, WWD just reported that Kimberly Ovtiz will debut her new 5-piece jewelry range at her Fall 2013 show on February 7th.

Of her new jewelry collection, Ovitz said “[I] didn’t want to do your typical foray into jewelry… I want to infuse technology into what I do. It’s the future.” That explains the unusual pieces, which include ear cuffs, finger rings and collar necklace made using Shapeways’ technology that allowed Ovitz to digitally manipulate the materials online. The jewelry was then produced on white nylon and dyed the desired color. Sound high-tech? That’s because it is. And that’s precisely why we can’t wait to see it on the runway in two weeks.

As for when you’ll be able to buy Kimberly Ovitz jewelry, the collection will be available in the fall and prices range from $50 for a small ear cuff to $150 for a nylon collar. The stainless steel version of the collar will sell for $400-$500.

In other jewelry news, shop colorful jewelry to beat the winter blues, good luck jewelry and the perfect necklaces for every neckline.
