If you’re like me, adding one more stuffed animal to your kid’s already massive collection is the last thing on your mind. But trust me, these Kimochi dolls are much more than your average stuffed animal. Not only are they cute, but they have feelings, too.
No, the dolls don’t have a fancy computer chip in them that makes them talk about their feelings. They’re more low tech, with two-sided mini pillows with feelings printed on one side and a corresponding facial expression on the other. You do the talking and you help your child learn about what it means to be happy, sad, mad and scared.
So instead of a stuffed animal that takes up space, think of Kimochis as a learning tool. My 2-year old daughter has the Cloud Kimochi (that’s her hugging it out above), and she’s imitating Cloud’s “sad” face because I turned off the TV to take her picture.
