Let's Take a Minute Just For Us Moms This Afternoon...

I don’t know about you, but I’m not sure I fully recovered from the craziness that was this past holiday season. And already I’m being bombarded with things I need to think about for Valentine’s Day, plus there are 2011 doctor’s appointments to be scheduled, snow pants to be purchased in preparation for the next snowstorm and vacation to be considered. This, on top of the fact that I have resolutions to keep. Yikes! It feels like I never got a break.

Feeling the same? Well this post is for you. When you start to feel overwhelmed and run-ragged (kind of like I did this morning), it’s important to have something you can do that instantly relaxes you. For some people it’s a massage or a cup of tea, but I don’t have time for massages and I’m not a big tea drinker. Instead, I find washing my face with warm water so soothing. So that’s what I did this morning. For 15 minutes. And because I was feeling particularly glum, I decided to finally try out the new Josie Maran products I got over the holidays as a pick-me-up. And what do you know? They worked.

Yes, two little beauty vials really did take my mind off all that was stressing me out because I was so caught up in how good they made my skin look. I started with the Argan Oil (above), which sounds scary because it’s oil, but it’s actually amazingly lightweight and fast-absorbing. It made my skin super soft and supple.

Then just for kicks, I applied some of the Argan Illuminizer, which is like magic in a bottle. (Sadly, it only comes as part of this set, though.) My dreary, tired complexion was suddenly radiant with just a few pats.

So despite the fact that my mind was racing a thousand miles a minute thinking about all the things I had to do, my skin looked like I had slept 10 hours and had a morning facial. And just like that, my day went from overwhelming to “okay I can do this.”
