What girl who grew up in the ’90s was immune to the charms of Lisa Loeb, in all her signature bespeckled glory? Not me. So when I heard she’d be debuting a line of eyewear, I was intrigued albiet a few decades late, perhaps. Granted, it would have been strange for a musician to launch a line of…anything in 1994.

The line has launched–here’s one of the looks.

[Lisa Loeb ‘Lucky Me’ eyeglasses, $150, down from $175 with code newyear11]

As expected, it’s filled with tortoiseshell cat-eye styles named after songs on her albums. (View the entire collection here.)  The curious part is the company’s website is asking for fans to help spread the word to retailers. The site says, “If they decide to stock the Lisa Loeb Eyewear collection, you will receive a personally signed copy of Lisa’s Purple Tape LP!” What do you think–good marketing strategy, or celebrity bribery? Weigh in!
