LISTEN: The Songs That Get Nina Garcia 'Pumped' For Fashion Week
September 10, 2012
Trends are cyclical, so how does a Fashion Week veteran like Nina Garcia, whose been covering the shows since Jason Wu was literally in diapers, muster up the excitement for yet another season? With a pump-up playlist, of course! Nina just shared the tunes, which she says inspire her for the back-to-back shows, via a Spotify.
The Marie Claire editor has been sitting in front row (or a stone’s throw away from it) since the early 80s, and has probably seen a lot of trends come and go… and come again. So, it’s not surprising that her playlist starts with the Queen of Reinvention herself — Madonna. (What do they say about everything that is old is new again?) She also rocks out to NYFW designers Victoria Beckham (Spice Girls power!) and Gwen Stefani (L.A.M.B. shows in the tents), as well as aspiring sartorialist Kanye West.
LISTEN TO THE ENTIRE PLAYLIST HERE and then check out our fashion week coverage — like what to wear to fashion week and the fashion week livestream schedule. It’s the perfect soundtrack for perusing the new fall trends, too.
