Look of the Day: The Graduation Ceremony

Graduation ceremonies abound this time of year. If you’re stuck on what to wear, take a deep breath; this is a lot easier than Calculus 101.

The key piece of a graduation ensemble is usually a dress. It’s somewhat formal, which lends itself to the importance of the event, but it’s also easy to dress it up or down depending on the details. If you don’t feel comfortable in a dress, a pair of nice trousers and dressy top also do the trick. Our pick for the afternoon graduation ceremony is this A-line Halé Bob Floral Medley Silk Chiffon Dressicon. It’s floral and fun, perfect for a somewhat warm early summer day, while the fact that it’s made of silk and chiffon gives it an extra special touch.

With a pretty Wicker Satchel from Elliott Lucca, this look is almost complete. On your feet, go for a wedge heel if you are destined to a backyard barbecue—that way you won’t sink into the grass. Add touches of gold here and there to add shine, and don’t leave the house without a comfortable cover-up to keep your warm after the sun goes down.

Here’s the complete outfit:
