Big news: Essie, the little NY-based nail polish brand we love, was just bought by major beauty giant L’Oreal. Distribution of the polish (now only salon based) will expand, to include more drugstores, according to Crain’s. Essie has been the “it” nail polish lately–generating $28 million over the last 12 months–and even whipping up specialty colors for J.Crew. Get these four best selling Essie colors that will spruce up lots of spring outfits, for just $8:
Ballet Slippers ($8) is one of Essie’s top selling colors. The soft pink color has a sheer finish that is feminine and flirty at the same time.
Cool-lots ($8) is a pretty apricot color that will pop with any outfit.
Red is a classic color, but Essie’s Tomboy No More ($8) has a creamy finish that doesn’t look like your typical red varnish.
