Love It Or Leave It: Is The Snood Trend Still A Thing?
October 24, 2013
Leave it to Alexander Wang to bring back something that we so vehemently hate: the snood. OK, so we don’t all absolutely hate it — I mean, it is really warm and comfortable and when it get really cold, we all secretly grab the closest snood, call it at big scarf, and go on with out now-warmer day.
But that’s just the thing: snoods have been labeled as an “at home only” piece that you wear out of the house when sick or battling a blizzard. Otherwise, the snood is a bit too much. It’s really big and over-empowering. Whatever you wear underneath it is most likely going to go unseen, either because it is covered up or because no one can stop looking at your large scarf, hood-type thing that is happening around your neck and often on your head.
OK, let’s just say that the snood is a bit confusing. Practical? Yes. Convenient? Sure. But stylish because of the multiple ways you can wear it? Never. That would mean that those wrap around dress things you buy on cruises are stylish and we all know that they just, well, aren’t.
Yet, despite all of that, the snood is coming back. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite ones (because of the big and comfy part of it all), but want to know, what do you think about the piece? Is it love-able or is it time put it all to rest and leave it once and for all?
