August 10, 2015
Macy’s is taking on New York Fashion Week. The famous retailer is producing their own fashion show event called “Macy’s Presents Fashion’s Front Row” and it will be held at The Theater at Madison Square Garden. The event is being described as “Macy’s biggest fashion show ever with more than 60 models and approximately 150 looks mixing with music and dance,” according to WWD. It’s set to be televised on E! on September 23 at 8 p.m., featuring celebrity/designer interviews, behind-the-scenes moments from NYFW and more.
Front Row will showcase items exclusive to Macy’s like Heidi by Heidi Klum Intimates, INC and Ryan Seacrest Distinction. Nate Ruess, the lead singer of the band Fun, will be performing songs off his solo album and it’s said other performers are being lined up.
Martine Reardon, Macy’s chief marketing officer said, “We are thrilled to celebrate New York Fashion Week with a spectacular event that will bring the high-fashion runway closer to fans everywhere. Macy’s Presents Fashion’s Front Row will ignite the catwalk in a celebration of fashion and music, featuring the hottest styles for fall, as well as fantastic music and dance performances that make that elusive front row seat during Fashion Week a possibility for all.”
Tickets go on sale to select cardholders on Aug 14 and to the general public on August 21. One-hundred percent of the proceeds from the September 17 live show will be donated to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and the CFDA.
