After saying it would never happen, Facebook is finally working on a “Dislike” button! Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg just confirmed the new feature at the company’s Q&A earlier today.

“I think people have asked about the dislike button for many years,” he said at the company headquarters. “Today is a special day because today is the day I can say we’re working on it and shipping it.”

Zuckerberg said Facebook has discussed implementing a Dislike button but decided against it. The main reason being they didn’t want to have a way for people to express negativity toward one another. “That isn’t what we’re here to build in the world,” he said.

Finally, he stated, “What they really want is the ability to express empathy. Not every moment is a good moment.”

Uh oh…this could be the start of something big!
