Last year T.J. Maxx launched the Maxx You project to empower women to fulfill their lifelong dreams with mentors Laila Ali and Barbara Corcoran. After a successful launch and lots of insightful feedback, T.J. Maxx is expanding the project to help even more women.
Research showed that over half of women filter their individuality to succeed in society. On the bright side, 75% of women agreed that they feel inspired to be themselves when they see others being true to themselves. So to get every woman to embrace what makes her unique, T.J. Maxx is hosting a series of workshops with inspiring keynote speakers and networking opportunities.
Here is a breakdown of the workshops:
- Saturday, July 28: Los Angeles
- Hosted by Laila Ali
- Submissions close: Sunday, July 8
- Saturday, August 25: Atlanta
- Hosted by Mattie James
- Submissions close: Sunday, August 5
- Thursday, September 20: New York City
- Special celebrity host to be announced later this summer
- Submissions close: Sunday, August 26
We recently sat down with Debra Messing to learn more about what this year’s project will be all about. As Debra told us, she is “really lucky to have so many women in my life who live as their true, authentic selves.” But since not everyone may have this, T.J Maxx wants to create a ‘shecosystem’ to inspire women to connect with one another and build a supportive community.
To apply to attend one of these workshops, simply go to www.maxxyouproject.com before submissions close. And in the meantime, be sure to check out The Maxx You Project Group on Facebook to connect and collaborate with other women.
