Lobster rolls are an essential part of summertime, especially in New England, that’s why McDonald’s is adding it to their menu. For the first time in 10 years, the fast food chain is bringing back its lobster roll. The sandwich will only be offered in participating New England locations for $7.99.
A McDonald’s spokesperson from the Boston area told the Huffington Post, “100 percent real North Atlantic Lobster and mayonnaise dressing layered on a bed of crisp leaf and shredded lettuce, served on a homestyle, toasted roll.”
The McLobster only has 290 calories…say what? How is that even possible? If you’re not familiar with a lobster roll, it contains a decent amount of mayo, so it’s hard to believe this fast food version is less than 300 calories.
Here are my thoughts about this new menu item: no.
