Here’s something floating around the Internet this morning. During her speech at the Republican National Convention, Melania Trump talked about “the values that you work hard for what you want in life,” “that your word is your bond and you do what you say and keep your promise” and “that you treat people with respect.
If this sounds familiar, that’s because Michelle Obama made pretty much the same exact points in her speech at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Cool!
Also, in case you care, the speech plagiarizer chose to wear a white dress described as a “beautiful option for the modern bride” by the brand Roksanda. The Margot Dress ($2,190) sold out on Net-A-Porter just one hour after it was seen on the model/designer.
Melania Trump, the wife of Donald Trump, was the main speaker at the first night of the Republican National Convention — an event marred when it became clear she had plagiarized a passage of her speech from Michelle Obama’s speech at the 2008 Democratic National Convention. In a short statement, Trump’s campaign said Melania’s speech "included fragments that reflected her own thinking.” (Photo: Alex Wong/Getty Images) #gopconvention #rnc #RNCinCLE #MelaniaTrump
