Fashion Police was never quite the same after Joan Rivers passed away last September. Kathy Griffin joined then quickly left the show after only a few months. There was also the whole Giuliana Rancic–Zendaya drama. The E! host joked that the singer smelled like “patchouli and weed” at the Oscars because of her locs, which caused Kelly Osbourne‘s exit from the show. After all of this, the network made an annoucemnet that the show would go on hiatus until September.
Now, three months later, we have the first news about the return of Fashion Police: Melissa Rivers, daughter of Joan and executive producer of the series, will co-host alongside Giuliana and Brad Groeski. “As an executive producer since the beginning, Melissa helped shape ‘Fashion Police’ into an iconic TV series that couples fashion with comedy,” Jeff Olde, exec vice president of programming and development for E! said in a press release.
Variety reports that there will also be a new format with two celebrity guest hosts each episode alongside the trio. Fashion Police will return with six epsiodes starting August 31, to cover the MTV VMAs.
