You may know this iridescent trend by one of its aliases: mermaid, dragonfly, oil slick and sometimes even holographic. But unlike sliver holographic shades that were popular for spring (and had the potential to make you look like a robot), true iridescent pieces have blue, purple and green tones. The effect is edgier and perfect for fall. Oh yeah, and the trend made its way down the Fall 2013 runways of Nanette Lepore, Milly, Tory Burch and more. The light-reflective pieces are eye catching without making you look like a disco ball. Our favorite incarnation of the trend? Iridescent shoes. How amazing are these Jimmy Choo Abel Hologram Patent Leather Pumps ($625)? We also have a mild obsession with this Milly Iridescent Leather Front Sweater ($795). Will you rock the trend come fall?

And don’t forget to shop these other fall trends: beanieslug sole shoes and illusion booties.
