Typically, what was a major fashion don’t (sweatpants) is now a fashion must-have that shoppers are buying for $100 and up. “Look, whenever you can combine fashion, style and comfort in one item, it’s going to work at retail,” designer Michael Kors told the Wall Street Journal. Kors’s cashmere sweatpants, pictured above to the far left, will be available this fall for $995. Would you invest in a pair of sweatpants from designers like Chris Benz (middle photo) or Bottega Veneta (far right photo)? I wouldn’t, but I would consider these three affordable pieces that you can wear outside of the gym, too.
This Rebecca Taylor No Sweat Dress ($275) looks comfortable and chic enough to wear with heels for drinks at night.
These J. Crew Ultra-knit Weekend Pants ($29.99) might resemble pajama pants, but when paired with a heel or a structured jacket, you can wear these pants to weekend errands and brunch.
The hem on this TopShop Curved Hem Sweat Shirt ($36) makes it look more hip than a basic sweatshirt. It would look great with a pair of higher waist jeans.
