Missoni & Pucci Don't Want You To Lounge Around In Anything But Printed Espadrilles This Spring
January 26, 2012
There’s a whole school of thought that says flats are spring’s perfect shoe trend: they’re comfortable and light, and make the perfect transition from winter’s boots to summer’s sandals. To which we say, “We’re sick of ballet flats!” Don’t fret, my foot-weary friend. Three of your favorite designers, DVF, Missoni & Pucci, agree that spring’s biggest shoe trend will be printed espadrilles. Fun!
Pucci and Missoni are here to the rescue with some of the chicest flats we’ve seen in a long time (they’re Italian, what do you expect?). The labels’ high-end signature prints are splashed across shoes with a decidedly working-class sole of woven jute, perfect for cruising the Amalfi coast (or trekking across Midtown Manhattan).
First, fan favorite Missoni released these Flat Espadrilles ($275) in their signature zig-zag print. Hey, if we can’t go to Italy, we’ll insist on bringing a little bit of it home.
Then Emilio Pucci tackled the flats with these Printed Canvas and Leather Espadrilles ($375). They’ll go perfectly with the silk Pucci scarf you have tied around your tote bag or neck.
And if you’ll remember from last summer, DVF has this Cadence Espadrille flat ($98) already on the market.
