This week’s, well, awesome, book pick for mom’s to enjoy during their down time is The Book of Awesome.
Synopsis: Neil Pasricha celebrates the little things in life in this adaptation of his blog: 1000awesomethings.com. Some things you will recognize as universally pleasurable, like the air in a bakery, or the feeling of the last day of school. However, there are some smaller moments he covers that you may not realize many people enjoy, like peeling the thin plastic film off new electronics. You might find yourself saying, “Oh yeah! I do love that!” every other page or so.
Why We Love It: This is like a “Chicken Soup” book, hold the corniness. Upbeat, and a little tongue-in-cheek, this optimistic, enjoyable read allows us to escape the everyday onslaught of bad news–and remind us that a few small joys can go a very long way.
