Baby-Bjorn-High-ChairI recently received the new BabyBjorn High Chair to review, and when the package arrived I thought they must have sent the wrong item–perhaps a BabyBjorn Carrier?  Seriously, the box it comes in is about the size of two large LEGO sets, and when I pulled out the pieces I thought it had to be missing parts.

But nope, I had everything I needed, and in less than five minutes my daughter was sitting in it.  It was probably one of the easiest things I’ve ever had to assemble, and it was just as easy to fold up.  Yes, moms, this portable high chair folds up for easy storage or for long trips to Grandma’s house.  Not impressed yet?  Read on for more features I liked:

BabyBjorn High Chair

  • For a compact high chair, it’s quite roomy.  That’s my 2-year old sitting in it above, so you can image there’s plenty of room for a young baby.
  • I like how the tray table is attached to the seat, so instead of pulling it off to seat baby, you simply fold it down.  That way you don’t have juggle a wiggly baby and the tray.  Plus, it helps keeps baby in his or her seat–baby won’t be able to lift the tray table off with her hands or knees when you’re not looking.
  • The simple design makes it easy to clean.  No fancy padding or tons of nooks and crannies means less places for food and gunk to collect.
  • It’s light as a feather.  Combine that with its compact size and ability to fold, and you have the perfect small-space high chair or travel high chair.

And now for the cons. I’m not going to lie, this high chair is expensive at $300 when you can get a Tripp Trapp Chair that grows with your kid for $250.  But then again the Tripp Trapp doesn’t fold down.  Also, it doesn’t have caster wheels, which would make it easier to move around the house.

But that aside, the BabyBjorn High Chair is a solid high chair that’s safe, sleek and portable.  It’s available for pre-order exclusively at and is expected to ship at the end of the month.  Now the next question is…when will they come out with different colors?
