Would you take fashion advice from a 13 year old? Never one to discriminate in terms of age, Harper’s Bazaar is known for filling its pages with what to wear from our 20s to our 70s–and beyond. But WWD reports today that Tavi , the 13-year fashion blogger from the Chicago suburbs who’s been getting a lot of attention from the fashion set lately, has written a column for the magazine’s January issue, on stands next week. It strikes us as funny that many celebs and other fame seekers have publicity teams behind them, and here is little Tavi, barely even in high school, being courted by designers and editors to join them. It’s like something out of Almost Famous.
Here’s an excerpt of her column:
“Raf Simons at Jil Sander presented dresses and skirts that appeared vulnerable from their frays and shreds, and Francisco Costa showed crumpled pastel dresses that looked as if they’d been stained with tears at Calvin Klein.”
Pretty sophisticated prose. So what’s your opinion: would you take a 13 year old’s fashion criticism seriously? While you’re pondering that, baby, its’ cold outside: get yourself a new pair of warm gloves, check out the makeover UGG got, and slip on a fun cocktail ring to make the winter blues fade away.
