Must Read: M.O.M. (Mom Operating Manual)
February 29, 2012
You know what every busy mom could use now and then? A good laugh. And that’s exactly what you get with Doreen Cronin’s M.O.M. (Mom Operating Manual), a hilarious picture book that pokes fun at some of the joys of motherhood (ahem, sleep deprivation), and then offers step-by-step instructions on how to deal with them.
For example, for those annoying times when you are in “bumper to bumper traffic” and your kid announces he has to pee…you can always threaten Junior with the following statistic: “There has been more than one documented case of a mother handing a child an empty coffee cup.” In other words, do not be that child. LOL.
The illustrations are just as funny—my favorite is that one above about moms needing a wee three inches of bed space to sleep (true that), and if you think there’s no way you can squeeze in another book in your hectic schedule, you can always put that O Magazine down the next time you’re in the loo. M.O.M. is funnier.
P.S. Much like bedtime classic, Go the F**to Sleep, parents will enjoy M.O.M. more than the kiddos.
