What: Hanro of Switzerland Touch Feeling Bra, $78
Why: Okay, I'll admit I've been in a bit of denial. When I lost all my pregnancy weight last year, a couple of my other assets disappeared as well. And though I knew I wasn't filling out my old bras to the same extent that I used to, I couldn't bring myself to go out and buy something smaller.
So this past week I finally faced my biggest fear and went to a swank lingerie retailer in my neighborhood. A few minutes later, I was strapped into a bra a cup size smaller than my former one, and I couldn't have been any happier. Why the glee at being told exactly how much I'd shrunk (a full cup size, FYI)? I couldn't believe how much better I looked, and I was in love with the new bra.
The Hanro of Switzerland brand, which dates back to 1884, makes incredibly comfortable, well-constructed lingerie that's intended to put everything in place without any visible lines. Now that I'm wearing the correct size (ladies–take my advice and get measured by a pro, not your local Victoria's Secret part-timer). This bra fits well, shows no lines and no strange back fat buldges even under a thin shirt, and the straps haven't fallen once since I bought it. You could say this was simply because of the fit not the brand, but I can't remember ever having one that felt this good, even in my pre-preggo days.
