Name That Designer: What Celeb Favorite Brand Invented Luxury Ready-To-Wear?

Fashion Week brought the celebs out in their most coveted designer duds. A fave among stars like Mischa Barton and Lauren Conrad, the subject of our latest Name That Designer is also famous for making her clothes accessible to us not-so-celeb-like folks:

We'll give you a few fun facts about the designer and our favorite product picks, and then we'll leave it to you to guess the brand name. If it's too tough, just click on one of the images and the designer's name will be revealed. If you think you know the answer, take the poll below and then click on an image to see if you got the name right.

Before the launch of this brand in the '50s, fashion houses were only interested in producing expensive couture for their exclusive wealthy clients. But when the designer of this brand came around — who was Egyptian-born by the way — she ignored convention and decided to create a line of off-the-rack, high quality clothing which she called "luxury prêt-à-porter", or "ready-to-wear". Soon other couturiers followed, which is why today many more people get the chance to wear these amazing labels.

Here are a few of our favorite picks from her diffusion line (the even more affordable label):

After you're done taking this poll, check out our four other Name That Designer polls:

1. Who is the Duo that Revolutionized the Basic Hoodie?

2. Who Designs that New Eco-Friendly Dress Collection?

3. Which Project Runway Guest Judge Integrates Parisian and New York Fashion?
