According to Yahoo Finance and SmartMoney.com who both interviewed style maven The Budget Fashionista, the best time to shop for clothing is on Thursday nights. First off, stores restock with new merchandise on those evenings in preparation for weekend sales. So not only can you get first dibs on highly coveted items that will sell out fast, but you can also be the first to pick and choose from the sales — much better than hitting the racks after it has been picked clean by the fashion vultures.
Also be aware that if you see something you are dying to buy but can’t afford, make a reminder on your calendar to stop by a month from that date (assuming the item is fairly new). Six to eight weeks after an item hits the shelves, prices start to drop. Other times that are great for scoring deals are during February and September; the seasons are changing, so merchandisers need to unload all of the previous season’s clothes, and it’s also the time for Fashion Week. What part do the fashion shows play in shopping? You’ll know which trends are going to be hot, so you’ll know just what to buy, what to keep and what to throw away so you can be on the cutting edge without sacrificing your budget.
Of course, another great way to get the best deals is to check back on our Sales and Deals section in the blog. We offer fresh deals every day.
