Ordering kids’ shoes online has its advantages. No screaming kids in the shoe store to get your child all hyped up, no waiting for a saleperson to find your child’s size and no lines to check out, of course.
The one drawback? Never knowing for sure whether you’re ordering the correct size. Except that lots of children’s shoe brands offer easy ways for moms to figure out their child’s shoe size right from home. Check these out:
Stride Rite: This is my favorite shoe brand for my daughter. The styles are super cute, but the shoes are also supportive and long-lasting. They’re Stride Rite e-fit tool comes with a printable sizing chart to help you measure your child’s foot.
Once you have the length and width measurements, just pop them into the tool and it will return your child’s shoe size.
After you print the sizer, just place your child’s foot on the sheet as specified and to determine his/her correct size in both pediped originals and pediped flex, which come with a removable insole.
Start Rite: This British shoe company–which makes Sonnet Kids shoes here in the U.S.–just launched a new Click ‘N Fit technology on their site aimed at helping parents order the right size. How it works: download and print the provided grid.
Take 6 pictures of your child’s foot on the grid–3 for each foot. Upload the pictures to the Click ‘N Fit tool, and voila! it pops out your child’s shoe size.
