Never Thought We'd See The Day: PETA's Giving Out Fur Coats
December 18, 2013
Well, here’s a news story we never thought we’d hear, like, ever. PETA–the organization whose members are famous for throwing paint on chinchilla-wearing civillians–is giving out fur coats this winter. Have they had a change of heart about wearing fur? Not quite.
The Detroit-based organization is asking folks to donate their fur coats, so they might give them to the city’s homeless to help cope with the frigid temperatures this winter. “PETA has long said that only people who are truly struggling to survive have any excuse for wearing fur, and on Monday, with temperatures well below freezing, we drove that point home,” they said on their website “While we can’t bring the animals who were slaughtered for fur, leather, and other skins back to life, together we can help bring a little warmth to people in desperate need.”
PETA will also donate angora sweaters, scarves, and leather jackets to needy Detroitans this season. What a nice gesture! Hey, guys, if there are any leftover minks, you can send them this way.
