Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week is only one day deep, but we’ve already seen some hot trends that you’ll want for your fall wardrobe.  Ten separate designers presented their autumn/winter 2010 collections yesterday, and labels like Vena Cava and BCBG Max Azria did not disappoint.  If you can’t wait till fall, we’ve got five of the day’s best runway trends in styles that you can buy online now.

Menswear Inspired

Blazers, button ups, and trousers oh my!  Designers like Kimberly Ovitz below- Richard Chai Love, and Shipley & Halmos ditched the feminine lingerie look from spring in favor of comfy work-friendly suits.

Get the look with a collared blouse by Robert Rodriguez ($149.99), a tweed blazer by 7 For All Mankind ($169), and tailored tweed trousers by Eddie Bauer ($49.99)

As a massive snowstorm ragged on outside, viewers inside the tents kept warm watching fur come down the runways.  Designers like Shipley & Halmos below- Richard Chai Love, and Vena Cava incorporated fur into a number of different styles.

Get the look with a fur lined jacket by Roxy ($47.25).

Thick Belts

Up around the waist, down low on the hips, even slung around the shoulders, thick statement belts were all over the runways.  Designers like BCBG Max Azria below- Vena Cava, L.A.M.B, Lyn Devon, and Ports 1961 were belting layers to add shape to loose fitting looks.

Get the look with a thick canvas belt by See by Chloe ($240).

White Tights

Pale is the new tan with opaque white tights that clash against the heavy fabrics and dark colors of fall.  Designers like Ports 1961 below- BCBG Max Azria, and Kimberly Ovitz showed pairs of long white legs prancing down their runways.

Get the look with white opaque tights by Target ($6.95).

Layering With Turtlenecks

There’s no denying that the turtleneck is back, but in a much chicer way than you might imagine.  Designers like Vena Cava below- L.A.M.B., and Richard Chai Love are layering skin tight turtlenecks under basic cocktails dresses and glitzy evening tops.

Get the look with a cotton black turtleneck by Three Dots ($55) and a gray shift by Hanni Y ($290).
